Destination Specialist (La Digue)

Job Summary

Responsible for the welfare and comfort of the assigned clients under his supervision and must ensure that the tasks related to the job are performed according to the company’s policy and procedures.

Duties

  • Prepare information material for all arriving clients, e.g., island hopping itineraries, vouchers, excursion leaflets, brochures as required by the La Digue Office.
  • Meet and greet clients on arrival and departure at the jetty. Establish personal contacts with all clients assigned.  Supervising the loading of luggage and transfer to the respective hotels.
  • Assist clients with any holiday/hotel/travel arrangements, e/g settling complaints in liaison with hotel or Duty Manager, reconfirming flights with airlines, selling the company’s excursions.
  • Visit all assigned clients at least three times per week.
  • Keep abreast with service change and the handling procedures for the American Express
  • Liaise with Head of Departments regarding transfer schedules, transfer pick up times, arrival and departure details, excursion schedules, procedures governing the overseas Tour Operators, etc
  • Undertake sales and promotion of the company’s excursion and services. For all sales of services, to include car hire, yacht charter, deep sea fishing, etc, the company’s voucher shall be issued for each and every sale.
  • Accompany clients on excursions as and when required
  • Undertake administrative duties as required by office procedures, e.g. maintaining proper records, filing of service orders or memos, keeping information and material in stock, etc
  • Maintain a daily record of clients’ movements
  • Liaise with Accounts Department for sale transactions
  • Assist with other duties such as Hostess at hotel desk, Guide, Airport Assistant whenever required.
  • Effectively and efficiently maintain the standards of the (ISO) quality management system of company
  • Any other related duties that may be assigned

Working Hours

48 hours a week with one day off per week

Special Working Conditions

Flexible working arrangements depending on the needs of the clients. However, a daily movement schedule should be made available to the company

Education (Knowledge):

  • Certificate or Diploma in Tourism, O level in English and French. Knowledge of a third Language is desirable

Training (Skills):

  • Good knowledge of the Seychelles Products
  • Computing Skills
  • Public Relations skills
  • Research skills
  • Good knowledge of the destination in all its aspects

Experience:

  • Minimum one year related working experience
